Taking A New Look At Cardiology
In a perfect world, (as it was prior to the fall of man) violence, plane crashes, floods and other disasters would not occur. The Bible teaches us that God created man to live, not die. Disease and illness would be non-existent. Emergency medical services would not have a basis for function. Unfortunately, the world is not a perfect place.
The results of man’s transgression, of God’s Word, was that, by his sin he brought about sickness, disease, illness (the first cousins of sin) and death, on all human beings. “For through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned’’ (Romans 5:12 NAS) Thus, we in EMS will always have people dying to ride with us in our ambulances. But when Christ enters our life, He regenerates our heart and sets us free, to choose what is true and righteous.
With the background that we have in medicine, we have studied the heart extensively. My goal is to present a perspective of the human heart, that many may not have taken into account; cardiology as it pertains to the Bible, and daily walking in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our prayer at SoulMedic Ministries is that, all who read Christian Paramedical Review (CPR) will allow GOD to perform heart surgery on them. GOD is willing to perform a heart transplant, if we are willing to pay the price.

A Paramedic's View of Christianity
The Electrocardiogram of a Christian
A Study into the Heart of a Christian
Proverbs 14:30 A calm and undisturbed mind and heart are the life and health of the body, but envy, jealousy, and wrath are like rottenness of the bones. (AMP)
As EMS providers, we see things that human eyes were never created to see. This fallen world is full of pain, sickness, death, and other carnage that we have to see and deal with day-to-day, in our line of duty. Struggles with life and death do not place us at risk on every call, though certainly dangers often come our way. Our HEARTS, (Mind, Will, Emotions and Personality) however, are in harm's way with every call, which is a danger more grave than any bullet, fire, or out-of-control vehicle could ever be.
We know that by analyzing the exact pattern of a patient’s EKG, we can learn a great deal about how the patient’s heart is functioning. From a Christian perspective, what if we could place a Spiritual EKG on the heart of a Christian and run a strip? We could then analyze the pattern of the Spiritual EKG, as a physical tracing. That physical tracing would portray the Christian’s response to the prompting and leading of the still small voice of the Holy Spirit, whom I see as the heart’s electrical current.
As we analyze the physical tracing of the patient’s Spiritual EKG, we will see the Christian’s heart, meaning his or her belief system. Your belief starts in your Mind, represented by the P Wave, and your beliefs, either founded on the TRUTH or founded on a lie, will produce Thoughts. Those thoughts will always request that you act, which in turn leads us to your Will, represented by the PR Segment. Acting on or not acting on your Will produces Feelings. This triggers our Emotions, represented by the QRS Complex; this emotional response produces inward and outward Behaviors. I like to think that our Character and our Personality, both represented by the ST Segment, are our inward and outward behaviors, respectively.
